Children's books are awesome and there are tons of great choices out there. This list holds many of them, but there are other great books out there, too! If you've got a favorite book to share, please feel free to go off-list (but click the link that lets the group know about your selections so we don't end up with duplicates).
Please do select books in Spanish and Russian (Ilya, regrettably, cannot read Ukrainian)!
A NOTE about BOARD BOOKS vs PICTURE BOOKS:
Several of the books on this list have a board book and a picture book version. Some of the board books are the full story, others are dramatically abridged. We're aiming for the full stories, so if you're going for the board book, please ensure that it's not abridged--when they are, the books don't always hold the same spirit or message as the longer version.
If you're excited to get board books (which, let's face it, are more developmentally appropriate for small babies and hold up better to getting shoved into baby mouths), please consider books that were originally designed as board books. Thanks!
