Many of the books below hold memories from reading with our own families. Those pre-bedtime moments where you convince them to read *just one more* to delay lights out a litttlleeeee longer... or catch them skipping pages when they're trying to (understandably) wrap it up. Reading to our sibs or crowding around them while you listen to mom or dads voice. Carefully selecting picks for formal read alouds with my riveting imaginary classroom or that nostalgic "bookstore smell" when you walk into Borders or explore the public library. Nicks adrenaline through every harry potter page or magic treehouse release.
Others are new titles we discovered at a local shop down the street from us here in Brooklyn called Books are Magic. Many have sentiments that we're excited to pass along to our little love. Whether it be playful words and visuals, reliving traditions, core values about love and celebrating all people, exposure to adventurous foods or different cultures... may each book spark curiosity + meaningful conversation as she grows.
